Hi all, just wondered if anyone has had a similar issue with their 1552 or 1553 Megger mft ?
noticed the fault started just after I changed the batteries, fuse logo came up on screen so changed that, now it works, but when testing live circuits it completes the test, but then within a few seconds it beeps and restarts the test again and does over and over, quite annoying on auto rcd from a socket. Also sometimes it displays E15 on the screen.

I have opened up the kit and tested all internal fuses and they are fine, there is also no signs of damage.

was thinking maybe its a faulty test button on the circuit board ?

I have also rang Megger, and was basically told they have discontinued and have no parts available for this particular model, can try my local Megger service centre, but may not have any choice but to upgrading to the current models on the market.

Was hoping it was just an easy fix but then............any ideas ?

Also, if anyone used to have this mft and now has a newer mft, what brand ? is it any better ?
The Megger has been a brilliant tester up until now, would be gutted if I had to replace.
Cheers.

google the calibration centre in stafford, then ring them to see if they can quote a repair.

I have never owned a MFT, but batteries can do strange things. Have you tried the simple first and considered the new batteries you fitted may be duff.

I believe there is a legal requirement for a product to be supported for a number of years after production ceases so I would suggest that megger have a duty to support the 1550 series for a few years yet
