Discuss Megger MFT 1502/2 or Megger 1552 in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

Never used the 1502 I think the only real difference is the 1552 has an RCD autotest function. I have the 1552 good solid machine and if I were to swap it for anything else it would be the 1553 which has the bluetooth.

Hope that helps a bit

Chris

Been told the Bluetooth is an expensive gimmick as there are too many problems with syncronising with other devices. Keep it simple.............less to go wrong:D

i have the 1552 but want the 1553

but everyone says the same thing software is a drama

think best to leave it for a while see if they sort out the syncronising etc

I use the 1553 with the software and bluetooth.

No plenty of other makes available.

I believe that the 1501 is the basic model
The 1502 adds the illuminated test probe with remote test button.

neither of these two have the Auto RCD function.

The 1552 has the Auto RCD function which saves you running backwards and forwards between the tester and the the RCD. the tester conducts all of the RCD test (.5, 1x, 5x both phases) whilst you stand by the CU and keep resetting the RCD. Once complete you can recall all of the results on the tester.

The 1553 adds the Blue Tooth.

i have the 1502/2 and cant fault it, it is identical to the 1552 without the rcd auto test and seeing as i test rcd's at the board i have no problem with this as im not walking back and forth anywhere.
hope this helps
