Hi everyone,

Does a mirror light on a lighting circuit need to be on an isolation switch, fused spur or can it be wired directly on the lighting circuit?

My thoughts are;

My job is to protect my cable, there I have no issue, i.5 mm2 cable to mirror light

Local isolation, the mirror does not need maintenance, if you want to change the mirror you can isolate it at the consumer unit.

My conclusion, i can wire it directly off the lighting circuit.

Before you say it, i know how to wire it, I won't come off another light, I will wire line and neutral from the junction box.

I always use a flex outlet plate with a click flow plug so that the mirror can simply be lifted off and unplugged if needs be.

I've always done it a similar way and enough slack so that you can lift off rest on the floor and unplug you learn the hard way by struggling the first time around.
