More than one ciruit in a breaker?

Hi Guys,
I went to see a job the other day and even though its a new splitload C/U, it had about 3 breakers with more than one circuit wired in. ie ....

6A Breaker feeding a1.5mm radial for the main lights and a 1.5mm radial for the house alarm

20A Breaker with 2.5mm radial feeding one single double socket in the loft and a 2.5mm radial feeding one single socket in a bedroom.

32A Breaker with a 4.0mm radial feeding the washing machine and a fridge and a 4.0mm radial feeding a seperate C/U int the conservatory and this was split for 2 strip lights and for the use of a freezer.

Now what would you do in my posistion regarding this situation as the location of the C/U is very tight and wouldnt stretch to a larger unit with more ways?

Finally the Shower was a 9.5 KW fed with 6mm clipped direct and only about a 6m length, this was protected by a 40A. I measured the Amp draw whilst it was on full power and lest it on for quite some time and it never got near 30Amps never mind 40...marginal cable but the sums seem to add up...should I change the cable???

A 9.5kw load should pull over 41a...exceeding the rating of the MCB but not the cable @ 47 amps clipped direct...at 6m volt drop is <2V.....as long as the mcb is not tripping during use I wouldnt worry about it.

in regards to the circuits mate, the 6a supply to the burglar alarm is allowed as its a spur off the circuit, as is the radial sockets. as for the shower, i make it 41A assuming 230v and a power factor of 1.

someone may upsize shower later or worse still branch off cable-you never know

They would be acting illegally if they engaged in electrical work that they were not competent to carry out.

yes but safer to fit overcurrent protection to cable - no reason not to
