Discuss Multi CU's off 3 phase DB cable size in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi

I'm new to the electrical trade. Re-wired a few domestic property's and done odd few fault finding jobs. Today I came across a job, converting a 6 bed house into multiple flats (passed it on to a more qualified/experienced electrician).

Just out of curiosity now, If I was to supply single phase to each consumer unit off the 3 phase board, would the supplied cable to the consumer unit still be 25mm if in total it had 3 circuits of total 78A (ring, light, shower)??

Thanks in advance :)

A one bed flat…….. A bit of 16mm is more than enough.

I’ve posted this before on here. I have a one bedroom flat. OK the heating and cooking are by gas. I installed a 6A RCBO and reversed the supply through it. For a week it never tripped. My actual electricity consumption could be handled quite happily by a 1.5 T+E.

I'm taking a cut off the electrician I've passed it onto ;) .. I like to do things correctly and this landlord has a few more property's he wants to do the same! After I've finished a rewire I'm on at the moment, I'll be covering the other houses. I'll have a better view on what needs to be done because I'll be having a look at this electricians work as he progresses. (I like to walk before running)!.. Thank you D Skelton and Tony
