My thumbs are split to hell

Okay folks, it's this time of year again, my thumbs are cracked and split with the cold weather so painful,even with cut gloves which I wear are not helping, any body else suffer this.?

Yep.
Only thing helping is Scholl Cracked Heel cream. Anyone else got remedy?

I used to cover my hands in a load of hand cream and put a pair of socks on my hands before bed , it worked for me

O'Keefe's working hands at bedtime and if they're really bad I use hand cream in disposable gloves during the day, especially if I'm working outdoors.

Do most of the above to hydrate the skin overnight but also use a nail file or sandpaper to take the rough skin away either side of the split and the area then moisturise. The removal of the hard skin helps the skin to heal quicker.
