Just popped into John Lewis to buy some scented sticks and look at the fabrics  and spotted the lighting department nearby. There was a leaflet 'Need your lighting installed?'.

Offering their customers bespoke service when purchasing their exorbitantly priced, Chinese made luminaires. For a modest fee, JL will deliver the fittings with one of their qualified lighting installers, who will carry out essential checks to make sure the installation complies with NICEIC* standards. 'We'll test your electrical circuit and wiring to ensure that everything is compatible and safe'.......blah blah. Making modifications to wiring, or building fabric & making good are not included.

£69 for the first light & £49 for every subsequent light. (Note to oneself, need to increase ones prices).

(*NICEIC, is the UK electrical contracting industry independent voluntary body).

Wonder if they do price match? :lightbulb:

NICEIC is a scam just like the rest of them surprising how many people think what they say is gospel

Cashing in on the general Public's ignorance of how thing should be done, not just electrics.
