New build compliance vs renovation compliance

surely a new build is subject to planning permission and inspected at stages by BC. this should include the electrical installation.

I agree with telectrix; the build will have gone through a planning process & therefore the electrical installation will not need its own notification to LBC. Just a certificate as appropriate under BS7671.
