first fault is a cross connection between the upstairs socker rfc and the disused immersion heater radial, so the upstairs sockets get fed from 2 separate MCBs. this I will need to trace out after moving loads of itchy-poo.

2nd fault is the diabolical installation of the security lights. cpc's sleeved and used as switched L's on 3 cables. metal floodlights not earthed. no RCD protection on installation. I have disconnected for obvious reasons. Paul has requested a quote to rewire the security lights with new LED floods and PIRs, and to sort out the X-connection.

as in.......

Can't you go and do a Ze your self as it might be that they just measured or wrote down incorrectly. As stated in a previous post what is wrote down for the prospective fault current?

Strange to not comment on it, but if all circuits have rcd protection, is that reading even a problem? Although if I measured that value then I'd still get the dno out for an unreliable earth, in case it gets worse.

Hi - the 2 Ohms may be ok if the installation is designed for that, as you would for a TT. But in summary - ask owner to call DNO and request a safety inspection (free) as they've been told by an Electrician that it may be unsafe. My concern is it may indicate a deteriorating condition and Client could end up with no earth. Apologies to all who've already said this on the thread, or if you've already established it's 0.2 Ohms  . Must have coffee ...
