What exactly are you wanting information on Mate?

Looking to buy a house and took some pictures of the electrics. They seem old so am after some advice on if it needs a rewire. The last 2 pictures are of the additional installation of a downstairs shower room.

Don't know which website allows the adding of photos.

It lloks like to me Honky Tonk that the install is a bit of a hodge podge / mess Reckon your best bet would be to get an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) Done, Carried out by a competant Electrician, should / would highlight any no compliant issues and leave the decision what to do next with you, with the guidance of an Electrician.

Thanks for the replies Pete.

I am edging towards a rewire prior to moving in as my contents are in storage. It'll be a nightmare having to get it done further down the line.

Any electricians from Liverpool on here?

PM Telectrix he Might be interested, I say might.

You should get a proper EICR done - probably around £200 - and if this reveals any "horrors" then you can use it to reduce the price.

Don't allow the homeowner to get one done.

This could be the best £200 you ever spend.
