There's a buddy of mine wanting to join Niceic and says he can't cos he has'nt been trading for at least 12 months, when i joined they never stipulated that just wondered if anyone else has had this? personally i think he has it wrong but he's going to show me the leaflet he's got

he's having a laugh ain't he , sparking for less than a year and thinks he is worth 'niceic' he should still have L plates on his tool box. It should be minimum 5 years experiance to apply for niceic

Did it occur to you that he may be an experienced sparks working for someone else who has set-up on his own??

Although stated 12months on the application form it 6 for domestic installer, and 12 for approved contractor. even in youv'e been trading 3months or less you can still apply and then they will grant you the registration when you have completed the required time trading.

Seen alot more years experienced sparks than that and likewise. its all about taking the time and pride and quality in your work not just wanting to get home at 4o'clock.

Experience is all good and well as long as its good experience, my old boss had 30years experience and the quality of wok he produced was not half of mine, goes to show!!
