Hi,

im a NICEIC qualified supervisor for my company who are approved contractors and was thinking about starting a weekend business with a plumber friend of mine to see how it goes before taking the leap of faith.
does anyone know if id have to be assessed again for the weekend business because it was only a couple months ago that i was?

Cheers,

Paul

It is almost certain that your employer will hold the registration, not you. But i would have a look just in case i am wrong. If i owned the company and you were my qualified supervisor, then i would probably not be very impressed if you went off doing your own thing in my name, so have a good look before you leap, just in case you leap into the job centre.

Cheers..........Howard

A place I worked at had an NIC QS but that only applied while he was working for the company, not for any guvvy jobs

sorry lads what im trying to say is when i register my weekend business with the NIC is there anyway i can sign up without being assessed again like just sort of transfer my QS status to my weekend business.

im sure they will want another fee, and say you qs status is under your bosses company... but all you can do is ring and find out...gl

yes they will want another fee and another assessment as this weekend business is your business and the other is your bosses two seperate entities so two fees , two assessments etc
