My latest annoyance is this joiner I am doing work for, he is throwing a fair bit of work my way so can't complain on that score but I am getting really annoyed at his lack of consideration for my part of the job. Went up to start wiring an extension last week and, not for the first time all kingspan insulation had been put in place in walls and floors and even worse he had actually nailed the floor down, leaving me a small hatch that only let me into under section, about a quarter of this extension, dwarf walls were stopping me from getting under where the socket, switches positions.

What should have been a half hour job roughing out a ring circuit ended up taking half a day because the only way round to the sockets was through the new joists, some of which were 4 and 5 pieces of CLS timber thick! There were some area that I couldnt drill through this timber and I had to notch a channel with a chisel and clip the t&e in the channel and then he had the cheek to complain about it! He has actually made his own life more difficult because when he puts his sheets on he is going to have to take care not to hit any of these cables.

Job could have been done the right way if he just held off until cables were in, this guy has been a joiner for 35 years surely he should know!

I hope it wasn't a quote, but if so I would be sticking another big bill in then maybe he will think twice the T1T

It was a quoted job which I am most annoyed about!

Well then you cant be expected to stand to a full days labour I know he may be giving you regular work, but if you take this up the A$$ then he will expect it all the time

Like I said sting the twot

nail gun his keks to the floor while he's wearing them.

Workin for Chippies is like peeing i a wet suit a nice warm feeling inside but nobody notices, especially your wallet

I asked him to let me know when the job was ready for me to get my cables in. He phoned me on the Monday I said I'll be up tomorrow went and all floor was down

I had it before Christmas , where the builder on site had decided to board the ceiling in the kitchen after I told him I would finish off wiring the down lights on Monday , that was a Saturday morning , When I got there Monday all the ceiling was up , and nailed not screwed had a right go at him , in the end had to remove a whole section down the middle of the room and fish the new cables in , he had the right strop the rest of the week ,
