Discuss Not sure how to re-wire this switch in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

I'm in the process of replacing the standard white plastic switches in our bedroom. Having unscrewed the existing, old double switch that controls the light in our ensuite and the ensuite extractor fan I'm not sure if I've bought the wrong replacement switch or how to re-wire it.

I've rewired the light live and neutral into the new switch, but I'm now a bit lost with the the 4 wires and how to wire them into the new socket.

The extractor switch goes via a fused spur switch.

Hi
your old photo shows two switches, one of which is a double pole and the other is a single gang switch with no connection.
The new photo shows a 2gang switch and is not meant to be wired with live and neutral,so it seems you have a wrong switch and can you explain why to old switch has not got any connection in it.
Hope this helps

If it's a light switch, wire the brown 'supply' into the common of the new switch, and the brown 'load' into L1. Connect the blues together as they'd are neutrals.

Your old switch is a grid switch so you have a single pole switch on the one side and a double pole fan isolator on the other. Your new switch won't work like that as both sides are single pole. Can you get grid switches in the same style as your new switch to match what you had originally?

As long as is isn't a TT system where the switch is used for isolation.
