Not having much experience or knowledge of working with MK gear I thought I would ask a question of those more au fait with MK.

Have a job coming up where RCD protection is required for alterations over three circuits. The existing MCBs are MK LN59 BS3871 type 2. Does anyone know if a modern MK RCBO will fit with this older system to facilitate a cheaper option ?

If not then a board swap will be appropriate.

Looking at your pic I think they do but I am not 100%, need someone else to confirm that.

Yeh they can fit but as they (the RCBO) are so long its a tight fit. Have done quite a few of those. The functional earth needs a crimped end to terminate it as its so fine.

i'd go for the board swap. them MCBs went out with the Titanic. who know what stresses they've suffered over years of abuse.

I don't like the sound of a tight fit with modern RCBOs. I think I will go back and add the cost of a board swap to the quote.

Thanks for the replies fellas.
