I have a 20m 16mm t & e cable run up boxing through loft and down boxing in ( ref method c) . The new CU I’m coming from has been put in by a cowboy , rough , no certs etc . There is spare ways but I’d rather come of Henley blocks to isol so I’m just signing off my own work . Question is do I fit a 63a rcd at source and an unprotected CU at other end , or preferably a 60a switched fuse supplying dual red CU ? Just bit worried about feed not being red protected ? Any opinions much appreciated

Sorry RCD not red

t?e feed would only require RCD protection if:
1, buried in wall < 50mm deep.
2. on a TT earthing system.

Will the submain be within 50mm of the surface of the walls? If so you need a RCD

If not you probably don't.

As for coming off the existing CU ........ your EIC covers what you state, so whats the concern?

If twin and earth is installed in or through a partion made from metal frame then it requires 30mA RCD protection...like the metal frame they chuck up for stud work walls on newbuilds.
Or as an alternative to rcd protection by a 30mA rcd, you can use earthed containment or a cable with a metallic sheath connected to earth like swa
