Out side light not working.

Hi I was wondering if someone could please help. I have an external light which is not working even when a new bulb is but in the unit.

Any suggestions please?

Next stop is your switch board - can you check that every circuit breaker is still in the on position? (Up)

Thanks for reply but when I try to view it I can see the reply is covered by an advert. I can not see how to delete or close the advert.

External lights are often fed from a fused connection unit somewhere - see if you can locate one and try changing the fuse in it, like for like, with a known working one.

I have circuit breakers which all seem fine but I do not think there are any fuses or if there are I do not know where they are.

The switch itself seems ok because there are 2 outside lights all together and the switch works one but not the other light.

Are you absolutely sure it's good lamps you are putting in. And it's sitting correctly in the lamp holder.

Has it ever worked? (ie you haven't just moved in and found it doesn't work)?

I was hoping the lamp took the circuit breaker with it, so a new lamp and a reset would fix it. But it now sounds like a fault, likely loose wiring somewhere. So you might be best served to get a local Electrician in to have a quick look? Lots on here

The lamp has worked in the past but not working now. Wiring is hidden in plaster.

Got to agree with @Wilko - obvious has been checked, time to get a professional in to take a look.
