Why doesn't anyone make an outdoor socket that can take and plug with a transformer in it, a single socket I mean.

All the single sockets I see can only take a mains plug.

Maybe a business opportunity for someone I dunno but has anyone seen one?

A single socket capable of receiving a plug with a transformer built onto it and IP rated.

know what you mean. i've had a few jobs where had to fit socket and tranny in a IP55 box.

yes i second that as i went to get mk then realised no way was the lid shutting on the ones with transformer especially as the cable was coming out the top of the plug/transformer

so i was talked into buying these adaptable boxes that are for single or double and you can jsut fit a socket or fcu whatever direct slightly larger than MK type

bought a different set of robus decking lights ELV seperate transformer

connected everything up swa the lot only to realise that the moulded plug were the cable strain relief is is to big stopping the lid shutting correctly
Out with the hack saw and file and adapted to suit there is a inner lining that was catching the strain relief of the plugs havnt touched the outside so IP rating maintaned i hope lol

i nearly took em out and drove back to wholesalers to throw at him lol

MK also make large masterseal enclosures, should be large enough to take the plug in trannys with thier masterseal socket, but you'd have to use a compression gland to exit the cable and maintain the IP rating
