I’ve replaced a porch light today it’s fed by a fused spur. But when you turn the fused spur on the light stays on permanently.

I can upload pictures of the light and also the fused spur.
 
switch the f/switch off and stat again ,or disconnect the pir and see if the feed is on live by switching off or on .
In other words it may be stuck in a fancy permanent on mode
..soon cured by Turning off the supply ,
Waiting 20 sec , then back on in a clean single action.
(as jiggling the power on and off multiple times is how you get into override mode )
---Or turn it off and look for signs of water--(then look for bin)

It has not got a switched live terminal and you have put the live in there instead of live in?
 
Some pir lights have a 4th terminal for manual over ride

Chances are you have a faulty light
