Evening All,

Hope this is the correct sub-forum..

I'm having issues with a little set up installing some lights on a bookshelf.

I have 9 lengths of LED strips (8 x 10cm; 1 x 30cm), all connected with quick connectors. 2 of the strips aren't working (4th and 8th from the PSU).
I've replaced the faulty strips with newly cut LEDs, but the problem is still there..

All connections look ok. Any ideas?

Picture attached.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, my initial thoughts are:
If the connection at the strip is not the problem then presumably the connection at the PSU is the culprit.
Try testing the cable from the PSU to the connector for continuity just in case it has been damaged.
Have a look at the connection terminals in the connectors just in case one has become bent or misaligned (depending on the type of connector you are using).

I had a problem with the push on clip connections, all 10 connection points were faulty, had to be replaced, could not believe it,but it solved the problem.

Thanks Richard, Cliffed. Appreciate the responses.

It turns out I was a little too quick/impatient on this one.. One of the clip connections had been flipped which I hadn't noticed (Lesson learnt - don't be lazy, solder next time!)

It still doesn't make sense to me why it would then work on the following led strips in series though...?

I believe so.. but as you've probably already worked out, I'm not all that experienced with this..

I have a 12v AC transformer running the 9 lengths running around a bookcase. It seems to be working ok after finding the dodgy connector, though there's a minor bit of flickering now and again..?

If you have wired them in SERIES the Leds will not work properly unless you have a CONSTANT CURRENT driver.

The LEDs have to be wired in PARALLEL if you have a CONSTANT VOLTAGE driver.

You need to check this, may be the cause of your problem…
