Discuss Pendant light with no colour coded wires in the The Welcome Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

I can, I'm sure see a brown line down one and a grey OR light blue on another - that's why I'm miffed that no one else can! Still it's not my job, just trying to point it out! Smiling!

Don't do Christmas so business as usual really, may take a few days off as it is a bit quiet for some reason. Who is that Chav Jim you mention?

IMO you need to get continuity testing, what are the lamp holders, bc, ses ,es, not that it matters well it does because you need to know where to test from.

Glad you got a sparky in, it was one of those things that was going to take 2 minutes with the appropriate tester but it could have ended badly if you'd taken a guess and got it wrong.

The G/Y wire will earth the rose part of the fitting. As for the 3 clear wires, one will be live, one neutral and the 3rd will earth the lower part of the fitting. The wires should be marked with the appropriate colours, but if they're not then as others have said you will need a continuity tester to determine which is which.

It's up & working ;)
