Just wondering what everyone's pet hates are. You know, those things that really get on your ----. I went to a job last week and there was a massive gap between the backboxes and accessories - I'm talking about a 5cm gap here. I thought the accessory and backbox were supposed to form an enclosure! It really annoys me!

Solid conductors twisted together. Makes fault finding & testing so difficult.

Plumbers, especially those that remove the bonding clip that says "Safety Electrical Earth, do not remove"

- Other trades asking can we get some lights on in here temporarily... arghh... go and buy a site light.

- Second fixing numerous downlights --> jb --> flex --> fidddly connection at fitting.

Umm
I think I will stick with Kitchen fitters.they think their very basic understanding of electrics encompasses the total skill of the trade and use that very limited understanding to potch about in our trade

Oh where do i start....CU not marked up properly so you end up switching the wrong circuit off. earth cores twisted together...i mean why? Line disconnected in cu or db but neutral still connected, Cowboys giving us all a bad name, endless paperwork, people who ask for advice then dont take it when offered because the plumber obviously knows better.....sorry but the list is endless

Before anyone asks yes i am a grumpy old man...i have a wife and daughter what do you expect?

People who write 'SPARE' across the label of every blank way in a DB...when I come to use the way I cant write in the circuit ID cos some pillocks scrawled 'SPARE' all across it. Talk about stating the bleedin' obvious.

Mine is people making mistakes when youve told them already the right way ect and they ignore you, and you then have to sort it out. I also make mistakes, but if somebody points something out, then ill at least investigate it, and not bloody ignore it.

People who say "Its been working perfectly until now"......well that is what happens when something develops a fault.... derrr it works and then it doesn't.

my reply to that one is "the titanic worked till it sank".
