Hi chaps...

Sorry basic stuff but been a long while since I've had to do much phone wiring.

I am right in thinking I can wire all my extension points back to the master socket ?

Or do I have to daisy chain of each extension to the next ?

I'm sure both methods work but first one would be better if poss...

Hope your having a nice Sunday,

Sy:)

The norm is daisy chaining phone points from one to another.

If you take each one back to the master you'll have problems terminating them in the punchdown terminals.

Only got 2 extensions going back there.... might just squeeze in, but not worth the hassle/risk I'll just stick to daisy chaining then.

Depending on how many phones and other pieces of kit you are connecting you need to ensure the REN (ringing equivalence number) does not exceed 4 if it is likely to exceed this you will need to install a REN booster

Unless things have changed recently I don't think REN boosters support ADSL so if you have broadband on your line as well, double check a REN booster won't knock that out.
