Discuss PiR on shop in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

I would just tend to tick commercial, because it saves thinking about detail, it is only if it does not easily come under one of the three that I would specify otherwise.
But there is a thought that more detail is a better report.

On from sheet would you tick commerical, or would you put other "Reail Outlet"? THanks

Yes, 'retail' or 'shop'-commercial tends to imply an office etc. whereas the shop will have members of the public wandering around and could explain a more stringent defect-coding policy due to elevated risks.

The more detail you put on your reports, the more value they have and the more you are excluded from the 'garbage PIR' brigade that are expanding at a frightening pace right across the country!
