I'm currently an overhead Lineman working on the railways 25kv system, the work is purely mechanical and most of us have zero training in Electrical theory for the most part.

I'm looking to do the C&G lvl 2&3 (2365) through distance learning with ableskills to gain the necessary qualifications to work towards being a fully qualified electrician, I'm just looking for advice on potentially better routes without having to take too much time off work.

I work nights lads on the railway powerlines so night classes would be a nightmare plus the constant moving around. I'd be looking to get on as an electricians mate after this course to get hands on experience for a while
