Pratley no. 2 with pratley connectors or break out box with Pratley connectors

Just wondering what everyone else uses to joint two 16mm/25mm SWA four core with separate earth? Not sure of size yet as have not got my micrometer out gotta disconnect first.

Yeh that looks good I must say. Shame there is only one screw per cable though. Would prefer two each termination point. Thanks though!

so the earth braid and constant force roll springs is how you maintain armour continuity I presume.

It is not accessible except for a couple of feet which is painted over and old and hoary. Might be able to get the size that way but taking it out tomorrow will Micrometer it.

Scotchcast or “torpedo joints” are often used for jointing SWA, particularly underground or inaccessible places.....

My preference would be a torpedo joint or steel adaptable box with through crimps depending on location.

That torpedo joint seems to have something missing, should be an X shaped piece of plastic to separate the connectors.

Yeh I think that sounds about the easiest and cheapest way @davesparks . Although it will be fun, in the oriental sense of fun, doing crimps up high in a suspended ceiling over a tray!

Aha, I was wondering about that it looks dead iffy those bare conductors just flopping about in there. I can see they are offset but that makes sense now you say it.

Be fine the braid is insulated. Don't like using cv springs though prefer a sleeve beneath the armour a jubbly clips.

It’s not the braid I’m concerned with, it’s the four connector strips.

Ok so it is 25mm² four core. So the wiska Shark won't do that size to breakout box and crimps but I dont know about the heatshrink seems not man enough to provide suitable insulation. Maybe a couple of layers...
