Just wondering where you guys get your PI (Professional Indemnity) insurance from (NOT Public liability).
I’ve had the same policy with AXA for years that covered both PI & PL this year they sent through a renewal for just Public Liability.
When I rang and queried why I hadn’t received a renewal for professional indemnity they told me they don’t do pi insurance for electricians anymore.
Axa had also removed three phase work from the PL insurance for some unknown reason, which they duly added back on for free when I phoned and complained. Good job I read it through, which if I hadn’t been missing the PI I probably wouldn’t have done!

I’ve tried a few different (online) places some won’t insure electricians, other will only insure electrical design engineers (not PIRs etc) and others were in excess of £1000!!

Cheers in advance

Have you tried the forum sponsor?

Public Liability Insurance, Cheap Public Liability Insurance, Compare Public Liability Insurance, Public Liability Insurance Cover

Give them a call rather than use the online service and tell them you are from the forum.

You may get a better quote. Worth a try at least.

Had a look at their site and it only talks about Public Liability not PI
Nether the less I will give them a ring and ask, ain't got anything to loose.

Cheers

Not in niceic but remember reading they were quite reasonable for insurance. Link here.

Many Thanks for the NIC tip. Forgot they also do insurance.

Phoned them up got a really good deal (with PL included), cover me for a lot more than AXA ever did, Plumbing work... (ok sorry for the swear word, but I was think showers etc) and other trades (as long as it's not more than 10% of turn over 20% for plumbing)

Really pleased

Cheers Jim
