hi guys,
I am in no way an electrician so apologies in advance But wondering if you could help me out. I've got a little home recording studio and have just copped a new piece of kit (a compressor) for my setup. Unfortunately it didn't come with the power cord. Power cord is just the standard iec 3 pin kettle type cord which I'm planning to plug into the last remaining socket on an 8 gang. Compressor is switched to 230v for UK. In the manual it says to use a 63mA time delay slow blow fuse. Can I just swap out the fuse from the iec cord (I'm guessing it would come with 5amp)? I can't find much on these types of fuses tbh and would rather not fry ****. cheers all

That will be referring to the fuse within the compressor itself, not the plug fuse. If it has an ordinary IEC inlet, a 5A fuse in the plug is fine.

(BTW on this board a 'compressor' is a noisy heavy thing that pumps air - not a dynamic range reducer - and would not work very well off an IEC lead!)

^^^ what he said!
