Hi guys so found out my house has no bonding today so am straight on it and getting that done tomorrow and getting my incoming water bonded, but i do have a question regarding my boiler/radiators, i have oil from outside come into my boiler to do the heating and hot water.
The boiler is on a fused spur on its own circuit. So my question is would i need to bond the oil pipe as it comes in or is it ok seeing as the boiler has its own earth path and all the circuits are protected by RCD, which would make it supplementary bonding which isnt needed as the main bonding is in place and because of the rcd?

Cheers guys

If the oil pipe comes in from outside and outside goes underground or is connected to a metal oil tank firmly attached to the ground then it is very likely to be an extraneous conductive part. In some cases the oil pipe is not accessible but often the connection to the boiler continues the conductivity to an accessible place.
Therefore subject to appropriate testing of the resistance to earth of the oil pipe it is likely that this would need to be bonded back to the MET.

I actually got into a discussion about this in the week when we had our oil boiler serviced. The service chap asked me if the oil service should be bonded because mine is not and started talking along the lines of what Richard states. I got blank looks and apparently is is an OFTEC requirement that it should be bonded regardless, every year he crosses this as a departure.
