Range master cooker fault

hi

I have a rangemaster 900 induction cooker, which has lost all power half way through cooking,

the trip switch has not tripped,

but i cannot get the cooker to turn on, no clock or nothing,

any help appreciated,

Has an RCD tripped that may be covering other circuits, has anything else gone off?
Sound like a physical disconnection.
Do you have an isolation switch for the cooker?
One, make sure it has not been inadvertently turned off; two, is the switch warm on the outside or have a smell of burning, this may indicate that there was a loose connection which has now failed.
Loose connections can also occur in the cooker outlet point (if you have one) normally near the back of the cooker.
Make sure that the breaker/ trip switch is off before taking covers off.

nothing at all had tripped, isolation switch is on, and nothing smells or hot,
i havnt checked for a lose connection, but i will do tonight,
i would have though that any fault with the cooker would make it trip off.

A fault whereby current is flowing in the wrong place: in a short circuit or a fault to earth, would trip the MCB, but a cable dropping out of contact with a terminal would be similar to switching a switch off and would not trip the MCB.

Opened up the back of the cooker and the live feed is burnt out. Would this be a fault with our electrics as surly that should have tripped out.

If it is in the cooker then it's more than likely a fault with the cooker. Where exactly is the damage, where the cable passes or is near any part of the framework etc? Picture would help.

check if there's a thermal overload. generally visible when you take the back off. sometimes the overload burns out, and the cables and spade connectors as well.

It is inside the cover on the back of the cooker where the wires are fixed to the cooker. Carnt see how to add a picture.

do the damaged cables connect to a small round thingy with spade terminals?

Yes it's the mains power cable that goes into the spade terminals on the cooker that are burnt out.

but what do the spades connect to?

Live connection has burnt out due to being loose, either not tightened up on install or something working loose since. The connection block will be availible as a spare part but you may need spade crimps and a crimper depending upon the extent of the damage.

The RCD and/or MCB didn't operate as the burnt live wire has not shorted out against the Neutral or Earth yet.

wife sells these and is telling me that if feed and install is all correct for load, then you have a two year warranty so contact rangemaster direct or PM me for details of who to call.

Don't think they cover install by sparks who's torque settings in their wrist are set wrong....

i wreckon connection is loose in back of oven or cooker outlet plate
