Hi guys,
have just completed a rewire. All lights are wired via rcd protection as per 17th edition. The flourescent light in the kitchen seems to be tripping the rcd once switched on. All wiring has been tested and no faults recorded and lights replaced. I had a similar problem before with a bathroom light containing capacitor/control gear which was also tripping the rcd. Have I missed something here? surely this is more than just nuisance tripping as it is happening daily. The landlord wants to keep the flourescent but is calling me everyday because it keeps tripping. :devil:aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh.

Am I wrong in thinking it only has to be on an rcd if the cables are run through partition walls or the switch cables not protected?

if cables are buried unprotected less than 50mm behind wall, they must be rcd protected. Am gonna have to wrap it up for tonight lads but thanks for your input. speak again, thanks
