Rcd not tripping x5 over 40ms any ideas? Changed rcd same problem, cheers guys
(1) faulty RCD, (2) Dodgy test kit, (3) dodgy spark, (4) what's the reading with no circuits connected? (5) x half and x 1 readings please, that's 5 questions to start, answer them and then we can move on to phase 2

Changed rcd as already stated mdg! Megger multi and all calibrated up to date,no am not a dodgy spark,no not tried with all circuits disconnected yet,x half ok, x1 was ok both half cycles,x5 was ok once at 0 degrees but then failed at 180, tried again at 0 degrees and it failed, as its next to back door adjacent to garden don't wana pass it when it failed the next time... Something fishy ain't right to me..

Wil do thanks.. Just reading the thread below domestic rcd,s.. I've put in a 17th board dual rcd,s but there is another rcd in the loft for the shower Which is on the same side.. But then there is another one in the garage on the other one and that sides working fine... It's rcd crazy now!! Lol ..after reading that I think I shud disconnect both the rcd,s loft and garage try again if not then as you said disconnect load and try at board... Thank you ..

well if this is the case then you`v surely got 2 30mA RCDs in series....
not a good start eh?..lol..

On the basis you can do this, disconnect the main earth from the CU, then connect the tester he the main earth. I had this a while back and it turned out to be a N-E fault! Very odd but worth trying!
