In this case it uses just two batteries.Granted the slightly lower voltage may reduce the radio range of the sender, but otherwise, should it cause any damage trying them?It may be because rechargeable batteries are slightly lower voltage than the disposable equivalent, this is especially so with something that takes a lot of batteries. For example if you have an item that takes 8x AA batteries it will get 12 volts if you use disposable batteries and only 10 volts with rechargeables. This low voltage may cause it to malfunction if it's voltage sensitive.
