Screwfix do a good multi ladder for around £80 i have one and its nice size to store and go in van. Comes with platforms for on stairs etc... Folds into lots of different shapes and modes

I've used my 6 rung (extendable) Little Giant ladders on stairwells. They go a lot higher than the one from Screwfix, mentioned above. About 3m as a stepladder. Still not high enough for some stairwell situations though, and a bit of a struggle to raise on a tight stairwell.

I think that only a specialist stairwell tower would be tall enough to do the higher stairwell jobs.
