Hi There,
I wanted some advice on help installing a Ring Floodlight Camera.
I had no existing floodlights so is a brand new installation.
Initially i had used a normal appliance cable, containing Live, Neutral and Earth wiring. This was wired to the floodlight and then to a plug, which i could then plug into a socket. However this didn't work.
I then removed the plug and connected the wires directly into the back of one of my sockets. However this also did not work.
I have bought some internal wiring cables, which are the flat grey ones usually found inside the house and wondering if i used this instead would that make a difference in being able to power the floodlight?
Any help or advice would be great. If anyone local to HA2 is willing to take a look, I think its less than an hours work, then let me know also.
Thanks.

The unit may be faulty as from the instructions it seems that it just needs a powered connection, where did you purchase the unit from?

Please stop what you are doing and get an electrician in - it is dangerous to connect this applicance directly to the socket as you have done.

This is solved now. Just replaced the whole wire and works like a charm with a plug on the other end, no hard wire to junction box required.
sounds like the "wire" was either broken or incorrectly connected. at least you'll be able to see what you're doing when you fit the next one. :D

Best bit of advice I can give you is box it up and get a refund as you have to pay a subscription monthly to view etc Then purchase the Netatmo presence no subscription and operates from smartphones, then call a electrician or Netatmo installer.
