I'm interested in learning more about ryefield boards as none of my training so far has covered them. Does anyone know the relevant bs/bs en standards and legislation that applies? I've noticed g87, esqcr, iec 61439 and bs7671 seem to apply.

I'd like to know about who has responsibility for them in any particular installation and how to find that out and how the eic/eicr are managed for them as well with reference to the documents that define how they are tested and when.

Just getting started with this so might post more after a little research.

Thanks

Last time I did a ryfield cabinet the dno operator refused to seal the cut out fuses as it was not their equipment. Seemed strange to me as the meters were located after the cabinet but he was pretty adamant.

I agree that's odd. What's really getting me is the lack of maintenance though. I can't believe there's no requirement for scheduled inspection and record keeping. The have earth terminals so if that gets damaged then everything stays on in a dangerous state.
