Thanks in advance. I have been asked to do a new build for a family but there is major problems with planning to a point the whole place may be forced to be pulled down. I have no problem doing the job but I need to secure the final payment.
Is there any accounts out there where the customer can transfer the whole final payment into prior to work starting and it is only released when the work is complete?

Your help is a great advantage as they may get retrospective planning for the house and they cant find an electrician for this very reasion.

Have a look into escrow, it is not something I have dealt with personally but could be handy for your situation if you can find a third party you both trust.

Can't the architect or project manager act as a middle man for stage payments?

Yes, there is. And the reason that I know is because I looked at setting such a scheme up and discovered them whilst doing my homework!!
