Discuss Safe zones quite well explained I think in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Yeah I know the OSG but it’s not actually in the regs book isit?
I quoted a reg number, have you bothered to read it? I haven't I was just answering your post as to the correct terminology for prescribed / safe zones, not an argument as to whether it states that in BS7671.

Yes BYB page 197 Regulation number 611.3 (iii)
"routing of cables in safe zones , or protection against mechanical damage , in compliance with Section 522"

I was looking for it in the BBB as can’t find my BYB and couldn’t find it as the section had moved/been removed lol

I have a preliminary pdf of the BBB. It looks like you are correct. It looks like it isn't mentioned in it.

The reg 611.3 in the BYB has been replaced with 642.3 in the BBB and 'safe zones' has been replaced with 'prescribed zones'
