I'm using the inbuilt schedule calculator and get posed with the following options.#

Enclosed or protected mains cabling

exposed or unprotected mains cabling

I guess enclosed means in conduit of some sort

but I'm not sure about protected and unprotected mains cable seems a bit vague any ideas

At a guess I presume protected would be double insulated? Or some from of mechanical protection via capping?
Could even be the fuse protection/rcd protection?
