After seeing Anthony's posts today I would add this guys, if you practice Domestic installation work them to be competitive and to get on you need to be in a scheme, yes, yes I know they stink, but a lot of organisations now insist on them, there is a very strong chance you will not get work without being in a scheme, lets not forget also which anthony has that most, not all of course but most Domestic installation work needs to be notified to the LABC, my view is this, if you price a rewire and you intend to get the council to do the notification it can be 300 quid more than if you are in an organisiation where you can yourself "self notify". To add a lot of businesses and organisations insist on the contractor being in a scheme, without it you will lose work to others who are in schemes. I don't like schemes and neither do most of us but it is almost essential in today's market, unless the law changes and the system is flawed you will never get on in business if installing Domestic installations unfortunately unless you are in a scheme. Most of us here slate them and moan about them, however all of us are in them, good luck in business lads, I hope you fare well.
