I have just replaced a Merlin Rcbo. The Sch... Eqv is sparking inside the casing on test. Is this normal my pedigree chums? Or is the casing that thin, the reason I am seeing sparks/arcing? Don't make them like they used to, do they?

No load Rob. Testing at breaker and furthest point on circuit, makes no difference.

I have done loadsa them, never never was there any sparking involved.

Asking about load on the circuit as to pull a decent arc under breaking current needs to be there.

Sounds like a dodgy RCBO.

Although Schneider are one of the better manufacturers. What range is it from Acti 9?

Sounds a bit rare any scheider stuff I've used never had that problem unless it was tripping under fault conditions
