Does a switch spur for am integrated kitchen appliance, like a fridge or washing machine, need to be within 2 meters of it or is that just for ovens and hobs? Also, do they need to be on switched spur?

O and one more lol. Need to ask or I wont learn :p is it best to have the washing machine on its own radial circuit?

Hi.

If you have an abundance of spurs in a kitchen say, particularly with hidden integrated appliances then lableing up is a good is idea. Saves confusion and inadvertantly turning the fridge off.

cheers guys. They want them all hidden so will use a cupboard to place them all in. Just wasnt sure if for fixed appliences they had to be witin 2 meters as well.

I'm not sure of the regulations but as for any kind of isolating switch, it is good practice to site it as close as possible to the component being switched.

Jonny

I've got a quick question on these as well.

A colleauge of mine had a SFCU with 2 cables coming out of the load side and he disconnected it saying there should be 1 on the load only.

I've never heard this before he said its in the red book? Can anyone tell me he is talking -------s or is this correct?
