Quick question, I have a socket in the wrong position in a utility room, if I put in the sink where I want to, the sockets will be within 300mm of the sink which I know is a no no, I can do without the socket, could I fit a blanking plate over the wires (having joined them to keep the ring) and still be within the regs?
Thanks for any help

if it's a new board wqall, why did you not pull cables up and joint above ceiling with M/F box?

It's a new sloping roof with only minimal clearance in the void, now that it has been insulated and plastered I would not be able to get to the cables.
Regards
As said 300mm is a guidance not set in stone the regs refer to external influences also risk assessment is the in word now.

^^ another very daft example of the regs we follow. BS 7671 doesn't have any dimensions..... the 300mm comes from another "guide" AFAIR
