The building inspector wants smokes In Every habitable room! We only wired main escape routes and kitchen! We used 3 core to interlink! So we need extra smokes but ceilings plastered! Do the aico radio control smoke alarms have a termination point for a hard wired interlink cable? If so I can hard wire one and it will set the other radio controlled ones off!

You`ve been caught by the dreaded loft conversion....Not a problem, fit a radio base to one of your interlinked detectors, and used radio bases in the areas you need, off local lighting circuit, all will function together

Yes the damn loft conversion! That reason he wants smokes in all living rooms and bedrooms too! So will fit a radio base to the landing one! Hard wire it in and it should trigger all the other radio ones I have to stick I. The bedrooms off the lighting feeds? What's with the alarm control switch? Is this mandatory?
Thanks for replies so far

Yes building control are correct, basically you have brocken the circulation areas, or main escape route, so your choice will be fit 30min fire doors or fit a smoke in every room off the escape route to protect it, sorry what has been asked for concerning alarm control switch

Yes I agree they should have made this point clear!
Aico do a control switch which is also just a live neutral feed. It is used to silence and tests alarms etc. do I need this or is it just an option?

It is an option, but if using radio bases, you can used the wireless control with 10 year battery which will control the system.
Now you have me here, i know it will silence and test the detectors but i am unsure wether it will identify the detector operated on a mixed system.

Just out of curiosity, did the original drawings have these details on or is it a retro regs issue?
