Hi and thanks in advance for any help!

My new home has an odd socket with a switch next to it in the kitchen. I’d like to put a tv up on the wall but there’s no ordinary power socket nearby.

Is this some kind of odd power socket? I would never have thought it was power but it has a switch next to it!

Image attached.

Thanks again!

That unit is a switched fused spur, probably controlling a single socket under the worktop.

Just joking, like Pete999 said, look for a 'normal' socket below, plug something in, and see whether the switch next to your Watjumakalit turns it on or off. Ask someone who was born in the Eighties or earlier about the socket on the right

I think the OP reckons that the Switched fused spur powers the 'odd socket' next to it, I sincerely hope not !

I think the OP has left because bar one or two posts the rest are inane. Maybe we need to take note he is a new member with little electrical knowledge.
