"Spider light" installation.Domestic

Hi.
Just wondered if anyone has any experience installing a spider lamp in a domestic premises?
First time I have came across one of these fittings, it has a single rose with nine separate 0.5mm flexes, max 40w lamp. Just wondered what the correct way is to connect all the cables together. I wasn't comfortable connecting all nine lives and nine neutrals together in a single connector block( due to heat off 360w ), so I connected all nine flexes separately in nine connector blocks and looped the incoming neutral and lives. I have been asked to install more in the property, but it is difficult to fit 18 connector blocks in the rose. Ps a junction box cannot be installed as concrete ceiling.

you should not get heat at the rose. the only place you'll get heat is at the lamp holders.

Two eight port push fit connectors (assuming solid cable, else three five port lever action) for live and neutral and a connection core between the two connectors.

I'll be honest, that anyone who thinks ramming that amount of connectors no matter what type they are into that rose is a good idea.

had similiar one, took it home and dropped on a bench, soldered the lot leaving a length of 1.5mm wire for connection. insulated with heatshrink and rubber tape. load it up with led bulbs they will be around 5 watt each...

may be a good idea to DIY one from a big wagobox, some brass pendants and rubber silicone flex. that may go well in those trendy new hip places, lots of light and easy to install too.

Thanks for all of your replies, I like the idea of soldering, open to more ideas. This is like an IKEA special, which I expected to be already pre joined.

Crazy thing is nearly all the pictures on the web are using these

I had thought of twisting them all together and ratchet crimping them in a yellow thru crimp

I take it that the thing came without any connectors?
Crimping was my first thought as well, with a short lead to a connector block of some description.
