Spur off a spur in the loft.

I have recently moved into a new build which has a passive input ventilation unit in the loft. This is cabled to an unswitched fcu which is spurred off a single socket which is in turn spurred off the ring. Am I right in thinking that you shouldn't have a spur off a spur?

Yes you are correct

can be solved by fitting a second FCU to feed the single socket and the ventilation FCU. fuse the new FCU @ 13A and the vent one @ 5A

As it is a new build surely you should snag it with the builder. I'm sure the "powers that be" would be interested in non compliant wiring in a new build as well. Is this part of an estate, and are all the others non compliant as well?

Sounds like more lazy work on a new build. Tels fix is the easiest option though

Given this is in the loft, is single socket for a TV booster or the likes? And so perhaps all of this is off the lighting circuit?

Thanks guys for all the replies. It is an issue I will be taking up with the builder. I have checked next doors and theirs is the same. Makes you wonder what other non compliances exist on the development. I have ascertained that the single socket is not a radial; it isolates off the upstairs ring breaker.
Just another example of poor workmanship. We have had an exceptionally long snagging list. Some of it, like upstairs sashes fouling on the brickwork when opened, blockwork in the garage bowing out and a front door warped and the frame not plumb, I don't class as snagging. What happened to attention to detail and taking pride in the work that you do.
