Hi Peeps

I have just spoken to a client that wants a few extra sockets put in around his house.

He currently has flush sockets and doesn't want me to chase the walls.

The only option I've got is to use Mini Trunking but my question is how can you spur off a flush socket using mini trunking? It would look aweful.

Mark:rolleyes:

Basically Mark, you cant, unless you surface mount the donor socket and run from there.

Some sparkies fold the lid over the end of the trunking thats left open when butted, but that can look naff, especially if it isnt done properly.

That's what I thought J, thought you guys might have a trick to overcome this problem.

Lenny they're all sunk into into a masonary wall mate.

Looks like I will have to chase then, customer won't be happy! but hey ho!

Thanks again chaps! :D

Can you get away with a back to back socket to start the trunking runs
Drill through from a flush to a surface mounted at some poposition

punch a knockout out the bottom of the box
then drill into the wall directly below said knock out with a 20mm bit 2 or 3 times to form a slot
drill a hole in the back of the trunking in line with the hole in the wall
and then use an external bend cut down to make an end cap you can slide it up and down to meet the socket

Had a job where i work similar to this, wall a was a stud wall so got the electrician to drop the cable down the inside of the wall to skirting board then ran mini-trunking to position of new socket
