Discuss suppliers cut out fuse in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

O

oldtimer

Guys did a consumer unit change over the weekend and hit 2 snags
1. The suppliers cut out fuse has no markings on it ie no BS 88 60 amp instead the unit is black with no markings on it so how to I id it for the cert. The property is a 3 bedroom 1950s flat TNS supply.

2. Maximum demand I have 40A shower 32A cooker 32A ring 32A ring 6A lights 6A lights so what should my figure be ?

thanks in advance

It does sound like a BS88, so put that in the box.

To work out your maximum demand add the MCB ratings together and times it by 0.4, and put that figure in the box.

cheers....................Howard

Check for the info on the previous certs or inspection reports----:D...sorry oldtimer just being silly

do as SkB advises these details .although necessary, are not too crucial afterall

take the highest rated mcb add up the rest then times them by 0.40 and add the highest breaker to that.

32A cooker 32A ring 32A ring 6A lights 6A lights = 108x0,40 = 43.2

+ 40A shower =
83a
