Hi guys,

any advice on what size of SWA should be burried for garage? Will be aprrox 15m long. Garage will have 6A lighting circuit 20A socket circuit and 32A power socket. Idealy 2core SWA as only one phase needed. IS 6mm ok or 10mm needed?

THX.

No there are not. Design load of maximum 58A that means 13.34KW. OCPD 60947-3 probably 80amp as main switch (in the house) and then RCDo 63amp in mcb in garage.

By my calculations 10mm would be better. Correct?

Quite a worrying response here. OCPD for the garage supply is the house CU main switch ?

As you are a new member could you state what qualification and experience you have, or pop it on your profile and set your profile to be able to be viewed publicly. This will help us help you best.

I didn’t think 60947-3 related to OCPDs, but I may be wrong.

Do you mean you are intending to use an 80A OCPD? In which case I don’t think 10mm will be suitable, off the top of my head 16mm may be better.
